Rich Smith entered the marble and granite industry in 1987. After mastering natural stone fabrication, he transitioned to tile and bathroom remodeling, then recognized the future of the industry in 2016 when he began specialized gauged porcelain panel training at the Crossville plant in Tennessee — years before most contractors had ever seen the material.
We don't just install porcelain panels — we're certified by the manufacturers who make them. Laminam, Atlas Concorde, StonePeak, Dekton, Schluter Systems, Laticrete, and Sicis. We install to the exact specifications the manufacturers intended, protecting your investment for decades.
Most contractors focus only on the finish tile. We're certified in the complete installation system — from the waterproofing membrane and substrate through the final panel. Every layer is installed to manufacturer standards. That's the difference between a tile job and a system built to last.
Every cut is measured twice. Every layout is planned before a panel is touched. We walk you through the process before work begins, provide clear timelines, and keep you informed at every step. Our attention to detail shows in every mitered edge, every seamless joint, every flawless surface.
We discuss your vision, review plans or photos, and provide a detailed estimate. No pressure — just an honest conversation about your project.
Before a single cut is made, we plan every detail — panel placement, seam locations, vein matching, and material requirements. Nothing is left to chance.
Using manufacturer-specified tools, adhesives, and techniques, we install every panel with the precision and care these premium materials demand.
We walk you through every detail of the completed work, ensure your complete satisfaction, and leave your space cleaner than we found it.
Rich Smith didn't just wake up one day and decide to install porcelain panels. His path to becoming South Florida's premier gauged porcelain thin panel specialist started nearly four decades ago — and every step built the foundation for the precision and expertise he brings to your project today.
It started in 1987, when Rich entered the marble and granite industry. Drawing on the discipline and work ethic he developed in the restaurant industry — where he started working at age 13 and eventually became a corporate trainer for a restaurant group in 1992 — Rich brought a unique combination of skills to the trades. As a corporate trainer, he trained up to 150 employees at a time and helped open 25 franchise restaurants, including three international locations in Israel, Cyprus, and Canada. That experience in leadership, communication, and managing complex operations translated directly into how he runs projects today.
In August 2016, everything changed. Rich traveled to the Crossville plant in Tennessee for his first training in gauged porcelain tile panels. He saw the future of the industry and committed to mastering it before most contractors had even seen the material.

Gauged porcelain tile panels (GPTP) are large format, ultra-thin porcelain surfaces typically 3–6mm thick. They come in massive sizes — up to 5×10 feet — and replicate the look of marble, stone, concrete, and other materials with superior durability and zero maintenance.
Gauged porcelain panels require specialized training, tools, and techniques that differ significantly from standard tile. The panels are thin, extremely large, and expensive — a single mishandled panel can be a costly mistake. Proper installation requires manufacturer-specific adhesives, substrate preparation, and handling methods most contractors have never been trained on.
Rich Smith holds manufacturer certifications from Laminam, Atlas Concorde, StonePeak, Dekton, Schluter Systems, Laticrete, and Sicis Glass Panels. He is an NTCA member with multiple certifications, and has completed advanced training at both the Crossville plant in Tennessee and Tile Nation in Nebraska.
Porcelain panels replicate the look of natural marble with remarkable accuracy while offering significant advantages: non-porous (no sealing required), stain resistant, scratch resistant, UV resistant, heat resistant, and lighter weight. Natural marble requires regular sealing and can stain and etch.
Virtually none. Porcelain panels are non-porous and never need sealing. They resist stains, mold, mildew, and bacteria — making them especially well-suited for showers and South Florida's humid climate.
Timeline varies by scope. A feature wall or fireplace surround might take 1–2 days. A full shower including waterproofing typically takes 3–5 days. We provide a clear timeline during the estimate process.
We serve all of South Florida including Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. Primary areas include Fort Lauderdale, Weston, Parkland, Boca Raton, Palm Beach, Miami, Miami Beach, Coral Gables, and waterfront communities along the Intracoastal.
